Complicated Skin Infections

When skin becomes infected with bacteria, the skin may become warm, tender, red, swollen, or may discharge pus. In many cases, these infections can be treated with oral antibiotics, but some require intravenous (IV) antibiotics.

The purpose of this study is to establish the efficacy and safety of Drug X (an IV antibiotic) in adults with complicated skin and skin structure infections, including those that are methicillin-resistant and/or penicillin-resistant.

Treatment on the study lasts for a minimum of 5 days, plus another 2 visits for safety follow-up.
