This trial will demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of a new injected drug to correct anemia for patients with CRF that are not currently on ESA (Erythropoiesis Stimulating Agent) Treatment. It is also an attempt to demonstrate how the new study drug compares with other currently marketed drugs for the same diagnosis.

Treatment will last a minimum of 52 weeks. There will be 19 visits within the first 36 weeks over which time appropriate adjustments are made to create a custom, optimal dosage for each individual patient. After that time (week 38) visits will be every 2 weeks until the end of the trial, monitored and further adjusted as necessary.
